Chiron Human Capital · Recruiting Sprints

Fixed-fee recruitment, priced by someone who has paid the invoice.

Two rate cards sit behind this page. Before you open them, here is the thinking: why the fee is fixed, why the guarantee runs to six months, and why 20 years in technical recruitment matters for your next hire.

Where this experience comes from

I have spent around 20 years recruiting in high-tech and engineering markets: semiconductors, space, advanced manufacturing and energy. These are sectors where the candidate pool is small, the skills are scarce, and waiting for applicants does not work. You go and find people, you screen them properly, and you manage them carefully through to a start date. That discipline is what these sprints are built on.

I have also bootstrapped two businesses of my own, and one of them failed. So I know what a recruitment invoice feels like when cash is tight, and I know what a mis-hire costs a ten-person team in money, time and morale. This pricing is designed by someone who has sat on your side of the desk, not just the agency side.

And I am CIPD Level 5 qualified. That matters more than it sounds: your recruiter is also your HR provider, which means the search, the onboarding and the legal handling of a hire that goes wrong all sit with one person who is accountable for the whole outcome.

Why the fee is fixed

Percentage fees reward the wrong thingAn agency on 20% earns more every time your salary bill goes up. My fee is agreed before we start and does not move at offer stage. My only incentive is to fill the role well.
You can budget itThe fee is set by salary band, in writing, before you commit. £1,000 on instruction, the balance on placement. No surprises in month three.
Nothing is passed throughJob boards, advertising and campaign costs sit inside the fee. There is no extras invoice at the end.
Lower overheads, honestly pricedNo office, no consultant headcount, no contingency losses spread across clients. That is why the same hire costs roughly half the typical agency fee, not because corners are cut.

Why the guarantee runs to six months

From 1 January 2027, employees can claim unfair dismissal after six months of service, not two years, under the Employment Rights Act 2025, and the compensation cap is being removed. Anyone hired from 1 July 2026 who is still employed on 1 January 2027 already qualifies.

So six months is not a marketing number. It is the exact window the law now gives you to get a hire right. My probation reviews at weeks 4, 8 and 12 mean your keep-or-act decision is made, documented and defensible by month three, and if action is ever needed it goes through my call-before-act protocol first.

One package covers both risks: the commercial risk of a hire not working out, and the legal risk of handling it badly. No agency offers the second half. That is the point of doing this with your HR provider.

Both rate cards carry the full guarantee terms in plain English. Bands are set by the role's agreed basic salary and confirmed in writing before you commit. All fees exclude VAT.
